The crochet pattern for Sam the Skater is available at Suncatcher Eyes.  It comes complete with instructions to make the beanie and skateboard.  This pattern could easily be made into a boy simply by changing the color of the clothes :)

I love all your projects! They're just terrific! And seeing this adorable little girl yesterday gave me the inspiration to knit a wee skateboard for the little monkey peep I just made for our nephew (who LOVES skateboarding!). I'd been hesitating to add the skateboard, but after seeing how great yours looks I got up the nerve, and it came out fine. Thanks so much! :o)
